Christian community is about sharing life together;
it's more than merely gathering on a Sunday.
In our midweek lifegroups, we seek to: be connected in a supportive, accountable, loving community and encourage one another in our faith, gifts, and reaching out to others
You are very welcome to join us during the week at any of our groups.
Alpha is a great opportunity to ask those questions about life you've always wanted to ask.
It runs over a series of Wednesday evenings, and we are planning another Stockport Alpha starting 5 February.
Kids are marvellous, and a blessing from God to their parents - yes, really! As a church, we're keen to serve and care for all ages - from the tiniest to the oldest.
On Sunday mornings, we have a creche, and a kidsclub for those at primary school.
Foundations youth is our youth group for young people aged 11-16. We meet on Friday evenings @ 7pm- 9pm in term-time. It is a great opportunity to socialise with others of a similar age, and enjoy a range of activities together.
We discuss relevant topics that help build foundations for life. We cover topics such as who is Jesus, how and why we should read the bible, what is prayer, what it means to be a Christian, identity, relationships, and more.
students & 20's
We have a number of students who are studying at 6th form, college, or university - locally (Manchester, Salford) and in other cities.
We'd love to connect with you, and encourage you as you are studying.
Just contact us, or visit on a Sunday,
and we'll link you in!
Good news is for sharing.
We believe that following Jesus is about serving other people, and this can be done in all sorts of ways.
As a church we are involved with many different activities.
We have a great parenting course:
‘Are we nearly there yet?’
designed for those who care for 4-10 year olds. Whatever your background, and whether you’re a single parent, or a couple, we think you’ll find the sessions helpful, fun and practical.
The course has an informal, workshop style with lots of relevant content, and plenty of time for discussion and laughter about our role as parents. It’s designed to help you thrive – not just survive – as a mum / dad / carer.
We have links with the newfrontiers family of churches around the world, and with some people and projects in particular.
We believe giving is an essential part of Christian living.
God calls those who trust in Him to give generously, deliberately, without compulsion, for God loves a
We encourage everyone in the church to contribute to the life and work of stockport family church in different ways - to give generously their time, energy, resources, as well as money.
Stockport Family Church was planted in 1998 from South Manchester Family Church, a Newfrontiers congregation in Burnage, Manchester.
We are group of people of all ages, from different parts of our town. We gather on a Sunday morning in Great Moor Junior School, Southwood Road, SK2 7DG, just south of the town centre.
Our vision is to establish a vibrant, town-wide church that celebrates and demonstrates the love of God. Find out more here.
We meet at 10:30am until midday, followed by refreshments. If you'd like to, there are plenty of people to pray with you.
Sunday mornings are an opportunity for us to share in varied worship together: spoken, silent, prayed, shouted, read, charismatic, sung and much more.
Our worship music style is contemporary, with openness
to varied contributions.
We expect that praise will be Jesus-centred, heartfelt, dynamic and Spirit-filled: please, come and worship the Living God!
leadership & staff
Stockport Family Church is part of the ChristCentral Churches network, and is led by elders Gary Blackwell and Martin Elder, with a wider leadership team. They are responsible for leading, teaching, caring for and directing the mission of the church.
Many others exercise leadership across the church - in worship, prayer, teaching, co-ordination, outreach, trustees, youth work, children's work, crèche, midweek lifegroups, administration, and so on . . .
Our aim is that everyone who is part of the church community is cared for, helped to be a disciple of Jesus, and has opportunities to serve, to lead, and to reach out to others.
Andrew & Heather
Andrew and Heather live in Bramhall and serve in many roles across the church, with Andrew as our church Treasurer. Heather works at a local high school.
Martin & Pat
Martin and Pat both work as support workers in the care sector and live in Heaviley. Martin is a trained counsellor, and responsible for our church pastoral care team.
Damian & Jo
Damian and Jo live in Offerton. Damian leads our work with Stockport street pastors, and Jo co-ordinates our Flourish women's events.
Steve & Meryl
Steve is retired and now works part-time for the NHS. Meryl is our church administrator and the person to contact for further details about church activities.
Gary & Fiona
Gary became an elder at SFC in 2012 and oversees the outreach, foodbank and worship teams. He is a music teacher and has 2 grown up children with his wife Fiona, who leads worship and co-ordinates 'Are We Nearly There Yet?' parenting sessions.
Phil lives in Hazel Grove, and co-ordinates our kidsclub. He works in IT and is a keen runner.
We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. Everyone is welcome!
