The Alpha course is an informal, relaxed opportunity to ask those questions you've always wanted to ask. The course runs for nine consecutive Thursday evenings. Each evening includes dinner and is free of charge.

We meet in the bar of a local restaurant between 7.30pm and 8pm and then move through to eat at about 8pm.
(meal paid for by Stockport Family Church - donations welcome).

"Losing the person you love most in life is a devastating experience for many people, and one from which some never really recover.  But Chris Coltart of Romiley explains how she found strength and hope through faith in Christ Jesus after doing Alpha at Stockport Family Church.

Her husband Bob was faced with terminal illness when, after having suffered with several brain tumours, he was finally diagnosed with an incurable liver tumour.  However Bob's life was transformed dramatically when he trusted in Jesus personally after doing an Alpha Course. 

"He believed God existed before" said Chris, "but it wasn't until doing Alpha that he really had faith in Him.  At the start of his illness he was tormented about things from the past but then changed incredibly, the contrast was amazing because he died in peace and was free from pain. I know that doing the Alpha and coming to trust in Christ really gave Bob hope as he died.  And I wouldn't have got through this without faith in God.  I find comfort and strength in the hope that he is in a better place and that I will see him again."
